The question of whether we are alone in the universe has fascinated and probably troubled writers, scientists, conspiracy theorists, Hollywood producers, government officials, and groups on the look-out for UFOs for years. In 1947 the infamous Roswell, New Mexico crash of a weather balloon created all kinds of theories that the debris recovered was really that of an alien craft and not simply a weather balloon.
There has always been speculation about the legendary Area 51, a secret military installation in the Nevada Desert where people believe the government performs experiments on alien lifeforms and UFO’s.
Area 51 made a splash in the movie Independence Day when it was discovered that in fact the government was holding out on a crashed and captured spacecraft and organic lifeforms; even holding out from the President himself!
UFO sightings are commonplace. We do hear about them and not just in the tabloids and on the big Hollywood screen. https://abcnews.go.com/Technology/ufos-exist-americans-national-geographic-survey/story?id=16661311
There was a sighting just the other day. It was not reported by a camper getting high in the desert (not that getting high should be a disqualifying factor for believing someone’s version of a sighting) but this one sighting was delivered by an American Airlines pilot while in flight and it was recorded for air traffic control to hear.
On Sunday, Feb 2, 2021 the pilot from Phoenix bound Flight 2292 from Dallas noticed something that looked like a cruise missile flying over the top of them at 37,000 feet.
“The pilot of a flight bound for Phoenix reported a close encounter with an unidentified flying object “that almost looked like a cruise missile” earlier this week, according to the author of a blog specializing in aviation and space news. Steve Douglass, who writes the Deep Black Horizon blog, says he recorded scanner traffic from an American Airlines passenger jet. He called it an “intercepted aviation monitoring recording.””
“Do you have any targets up here? We just had something go right over the top of us,” the pilot is heard saying in the recording Douglass uploaded to his blog. “I hate to say this, but it looked like a long cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing – moving really fast right over the top of us.”https://www.azfamily.com/news/pilot-of-phoenix-bound-american-airlines-plane-reports-mid-flight-close-encounter-with-ufo/article_7338bb8c-7789-11eb-b800-e3a5eff2bab0.html
This is not the first time pilots have reported credible sightings. Last spring the pentagon declassified and released videos of previous encounters.
“Newly released “hazard reports” detailing encounters between US Navy aircraft and “unidentified aerial phenomena” reveal details about incidents that were thrust into the spotlight when the Pentagon officially declassified and released videos of three encounters late last month.”
“The unknown aircraft appeared to be small in size, approximately the size of a suitcase, and silver in color,” one report describing an incident from March 26, 2014, said.”
“During that encounter one of the Navy F/A-18 jets “passed within 1000′ of the object, but was unable to positively determine the identity of the aircraft,” the report added, saying the US Navy pilot “attempted to regain visual contact with the aircraft, but was unable.”https://www.azfamily.com/news/us_world_news/newly-released-incident-reports-detail-us-navys-ufo-encounters/article_57a43cef-80b0-5409-81a1-61cbad4bcc24.html
Were the pilots able to make heads or tails out of what the unusual objects were? Not really? Does that mean they were alien spacecraft? I cannot say. But neither can they.
“Nevertheless, Luis Elizondo, the former head of the classified program, told CNN in 2017 that he personally believes “there is very compelling evidence that we may not be alone.”
“These aircraft — we’ll call them aircraft — are displaying characteristics that are not currently within the US inventory nor in any foreign inventory that we are aware of,” Elizondo said of objects they researched. He says he resigned from the Defense Department in 2017 in protest over the secrecy surrounding the program and the internal opposition to funding it.”
So where does that leave us? Possibly not alone. Is the government going to declassify more information on our alien neighbors? Possibly so!
“President Trump’s signature Sunday on the $2.3 trillion COVID-19 relief and government funding bill started a 180-day countdown for the Pentagon and spy agencies to say what they know about UFOs.
The provision received very little attention, in part because it wasn’t included in the text of the 5,593-page legislation, but as a “committee comment” attached to the annual intelligence authorization act, which was rolled into the massive bill.”
What is supposed to be in this report?
“The report must address “observed airborne objects that have not been identified” and should include a “detailed analysis of unidentified phenomena data collected by: a. geospatial intelligence; b. signals intelligence; c. human intelligence; and d. measurement and signals intelligence,” the committee said.”
“The report must also contain “[a] detailed analysis of data of the FBI, which was derived from investigations of intrusions of unidentified aerial phenomena data over restricted United States airspace … and an assessment of whether this unidentified aerial phenomena activity may be attributed to one or more foreign adversaries.”
Will the report reveal all? Will we once and for all find out if we are not alone?
“The submitted report should be unclassified, the committee said, though it can contain a classified annex.”
The smoking gun language: classified annex! Can humans handle it? Or are humans too predictably hysterical? Only time will tell. Odd, that the 180 day countdown is up just around Independence Day. Is that by design or accident?
